Garda LAKE
Bardolino
Bardolino is situated on the eastern bank of Lake Garda (30 km far from Verona) and is one of the most important and popular tourist spots of the lake. It is located at the foot of the moraine hills rich in vineyards that generate the famous Bardolino red wine, Rosé Chiaretto, and olive trees that give us the typical olive oil of the Garda area. The town is known for its characteristic and well-visited historical center, on which streets one can find many shops and restaurants.
Bardolino is not only an ideal destination for peace-lovers. Thanks to the paths along the hills, surrounding the town, you can really enjoy the breathtaking view.
The Roman church of San Severo with its frescoes and the church of Santa Maria di Cisano, as well as the Olive Oil Museum, are truly worth a visit. Moreover, when crossing the Wine Route you can stop at different cellars and taste the typical local specialties at the many trattorias located along the way.
Garda
Garda is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Verona’s side of the lake and is about 32 km far from Verona. It is the town of Garda to give the name to the lake, formerly known as Benacus or Benaco. The town is dominated by the Rocca − a mountain relief overlooking the lake and containing the remainings of a tower from the early Middle Ages.
Its historic center still contains that medieval charm marked by tiny coloured houses overlooking the narrow streets.
The small peninsula, Punta San Vigilio, is famous for its chapel, a guesthouse, a villa, a small port and the wonderful Baia delle Sirene (Mermaids bay).
The port of Garda is one of the most beloved photographic areas. However you should also pay a visit to many villas and palaces, among which the Palazzo dei Capitani, Villa Alberini, Villa Canossa and the hermitage of San Giorgio on the Rocca.
Lazise
Lazise is located south of Bardolino on the eastern bank of Lake Garda, 24 km west of Verona. At this point the lake reaches its maximum width, which is 17 km coast to coast.
The name Lazise comes from the Latin "laceses" which means "city on the lake". The town has medieval origins, and its traces can be found at the Scaligeri Castle with its peculiar towers and walls. The historic center of Lazise is known for its narrow streets and picturesque squares. The town also contains a customs office dating back to the XIV century.
Among the most known subareas of Lazise there is Colà, where a thermal park with two thermal lakes are located. The area is accessible to the public.
The most beautiful villas of Lazise are Villa Pergolana, Villa Bernini, Villa Bottona, built in medieval style, Villa Baratta, Villa Bazzoli and Villa dei Cedri, located in Colà, inside the thermal area.
Peschiera del Garda
Peschiera del Garda is located in the southernmost part of the Verona’s bank of the lake. It is 25 km far from Verona. The town is surrounded by canals. The historic center is embraced by walls that have changed the natural flow of the rivers.
It is in Peschiera that a famous bike path leading to Mantua launches. It is 42 km long and passes along cypresses, olive groves and old mills. There is also a second path that crosses the Mincio park and runs along the Mincio river. The area of Frassino can also be considered of particular interest. Thanks to its rich fauna and flora, it has become part of the Special Protection Areas of the European Union, containing, besides the above, the Sanctuary of Madonna del Frassino. The area of Peschiera is also famous for its large amusement parks.
Terme Garda Lake - Villa dei Cedri
The two sources of thermal water lie at a depth of 160 and 200 m, both were discovered in 1989. In the main lake water temperature is at roughly 33-34 C° – the ideal temperature for your wellbeing. Both lakes and the pools are equipped with hydro massage devices of various kinds (jacuzzis, jets, waterfalls fountains, cascades, geysers).
They are lit in the evening so bathing at night is also possible. The main lake (5000 m2) is in front of the Wintergarten-Pavilion (restaurant, changing and relax area, toilettes etc.), and its water temperature is around 33-34°C.
In this lake there are two pools with a temperature of 37-39°C. Circulation of water in the main lake is guaranteed and occurs in 48 h (3.500 m3 of water per day are pumped in and 3.000 m3 out). The main lake dates back to the end of the 18th century when the park was created, but at time the water was cold. The small lake was realised when the park was opened. Water temperature of this lake is around 29-30°C.
